Description:
Youth empowerment has been defined as that which encompasses attitudes, structures, and cultural process where the youth obtain abilities, authorities, as well as the avenue to independently make and implement choices that affect self as well as other people lives (Sazama and Young, 2006). Africa has a demographic boom of young people who not only need to be economically empowered but also to participate in the community development as World Bank (2010) report that about 50 percent of the developing world population is youths estimated at about 1.2 billion of age between 15 and 24 years. These statistics indicate that youths constitute a serious development opportunity as well as a challenge particularly in developing countries.
